SME Heterogenous (Open) Cluster OEM Vendor Cluster
Formed by bringing in companies of diverse nature OEM decides the vendors out of his suppliers and a cluster is formed The inputs are given as per two options:
Minimum of 8 – 10 companies to form a cluster Option I
  • OEM to identify coordinator and facilitator who are to be trained by CII-counsellor
  • Monthly briefing meeting conducted by counsellors for facilitators to provide training to vendors
  • Monitoring through monthly review meetings
Competitors are avoided
Companies of similar turnover are preferred
Companies to be located in close proximity
  Option II
  • Direct intervention by the counsellor through handholding visits to the vendor companies


Who can join cluster?

Any SME which is motivated and committed enough to improve their productivity, reduce the cost and excel in competitiveness can join the cluster. The CEO should be committed for this programme and should offer 100% involvements.

The SME must:
  • be below 50 crore turnover
  • be capable to absorb the programme
  • be willing to share information, data to learn for each other
  • be able to visit each other companies to learn by sharing
  • have the basic infrastructure to develop
  • not be competitors to each other
  • not be involved in major renovation and change in product or process line
  • not be in red
